Our First Fundraiser!
La Isla Cuisine - Ballard
October 8th
Over 600 people attended our first fundraiser held October 8th at La Isla in Ballard. What an outpouring of love and support for Puerto Rico in the Seattle region! We roasted four pigs which was served with pasteles, arroz con gandules and tostones. We danced on the sidewalks to live salsa, rumba, bomba y plena, ran a roulette prize wheel, silent auction, cupcake and T-shirt sales and loaded donations into our truck. The Seattle Fire Department gave the little ones tours on their big fire engine and Congresswoman Pramilla Jayapal came out to support the endeavor and opened silent auction bidding. We could not have made this event as successful as it was without your unwavering dedication to our common cause. Together, we raised over $40,000. This money funded collection, transportation and distribution of much needed hurricane relief donations to towns across Puerto Rico.
A Pour For Puerto Rico
Floating Bridge Brewing
November 19th
A Pour for Puerto Rico was graciously hosted by Floating Bridge Brewery in the University District. $1 for every pour purchased went towards our fundraising efforts. We had our first Facebook Live broadcast at this event. Our board and volunteers also sold Tshirts, limited edition goblets and custom bracelets to help raise funds!
Splash of the Caribbean
C&P Coffee
Month of December
C&P Coffee and Splash of the Caribbean raised $276.00 during the month of December in West Seattle during holiday art sales at C & P Coffee! We are thrilled C & P Coffee was also able to raise enough money this winter to buy their establishment and save it from development!

Canciones Para Puerto Rico
The Congregational Church - Mercer Island
April 28th
On April 28, 2018, we joined forces with the La Isla Cuisine Restaurant, The Congregational Church on Mercer Island, and Seattle Opera on Tap for an evening of Spanish canciones and romantic zarzuela featuring some of Seattle’s finest opera singers, accompanied by pianists Beth Kirchhoff and Glenda Williams and guitarists Lucas Victor, Max Shaffer, & Connor Ritchie. All proceeds benefited One Human Family Coalition and The Free Healthcare Clinic of Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, a free and self-sustainable, volunteer-led clinic. Currently, this clinic is currently occupying 15% of a medical facility and hopes to expand within its building’s available space via necessary monetary donations in order to serve more people in need of medical attention. Donations from about 75 attendees and more via social media, we raised $3,000 to sponsor the development of two more patient rooms, which includes the supplies needed for each examination room.
